NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Luxury brand Karl Lagerfeld Paris opens its first Louisiana storefront at Riverwalk Outlets.
As a celebrated fashion designer, Lagerfeld was known as the creative director of French fashion house Chanel for more than 35 years before his death in 2019. His eponymous fashion label brings his vision of “Parisian chic” to America.
The Karl Lagerfeld Parish store in Riverwalk Outlets, located on Level A next to Coach, will feature high-end women’s and men’s fashion, accessories, shoes and bags, according to a release. The Riverwalk is hiring full-time and part-time managers in training and part-time sales associates for the new store, the release said.
The store is the first new tenant announced since the downtown New Orleans shopping center was acquired by a Texas-based investment firm this summer.
National real estate investment firm RockStep Capital acquired the Riverwalk in July. Previously, the Riverwalk was owned by Howard Hughes Corporation.

According to a spokesperson, the company says it has “ambitious plans for the outlet mall, including expanding dining options, adding multiple major high-end retailers and continuing to support the City of New Orleans’ redevelopment of Spanish Plaza.”
RockStep Capital president Andy Weiner said the new Karl Lagerfeld Paris store is the “first of multiple new luxury brands that RockStep plans to bring to the Riverwalk.”
As a riverfront staple since 1986, the Riverwalk was formerly the site of the 1984 World’s Fair, before the location was developed into Riverwalk Marketplace.
Formerly the site of the 1984 World’s Fair, the location was developed into the Riverwalk Marketplace in 1986. The Riverwalk Outlets is now home to more than 75 retailers, including high-end brands such as Coach, Kate Spade, Polo Ralph Lauren and Nordstrom Rack.
