NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Rising New Orleans rapper Rob49 lands a spot on the 2023 XXL magazine “Freshman Class” cover.

The hip-hop magazine published its annual list on Wednesday featuring the 24-year-old New Orleans native. Rob49 graces the cover alongside a host of burgeoning talent, including Glorilla, Finesse2Tymes, Lola Brooke, Sleazy World Go, Luh Tyler, Tia Corine, 2Rare, Real Boston Richey, DC Da Don, Fridayy and Central Cee.

According to XXL, “the Freshman class for 2023 was selected based on the artists’ undeniable impact.”

Rob49 recently kicked off the summer releasing his new album, 4 God II. The New Orleans star has also been buzzing in the rap game with hard-hitting records and features with some of the top acts including Lil Durk, Roddy Rich, Trippie Redd, Birdman and more.

The rapper recently hosted his second annual “Vulture Weekend” in New Orleans on June 16 and June 17. The weekend featured a celebrity basketball game at McDonogh 35 High School and a concert headlined by the rapper at the Fillmore.
