NEW ORLEANS, La. (NOLA NOW) - The New Orleans Public Library’s Robin Goldblum and Amy Wander visited NOLA Now on Monday, April 1, bringing with them new books for the NOLA Now book club to dive into this month.
Robin Goldblum, head of adult learning & education programming at the Library, chose “The List” by Yomi Adegoke as April’s title. The book follows Ola, a British journalist for a feminist magazine who starts to spiral when her fiancé's name appears on an anonymous list of sexual predators in the media. In the weeks leading up to her dream wedding, Ola is paralyzed between her instinct to believe all women or to believe the man she loves.

The List is a timely, fast-paced read that’s sure to spark some interesting conversations.
As the head of adult learning & education programming, Goldblum runs a service called “book-a-librarian” that allows New Orleans Public Library users seeking job or tech help get connected with the resources they need to grow and thrive.

Goldblum is passionate about bringing issues of access and diversity – in lifestyle and learning – to the community, which is a vital component of the Library’s mission of equitable access for all.

For kids, youth programming librarian Amy Wander suggests picking up “I am Every Good Thing,” by Derrick Barnes. The book is full of positive affirmations that are great reminders for people of all ages, not just kids.
Kids and families can meet the award-winning author at Norman Mayer Library on April 13 for a special “books and breakfast” event.

Families in attendance will go home with a free copy of “I Am Every Good Thing.”
Books and Breakfast with Derrick Barnes starts at 10:30 a.m. and is sponsored by New Orleans Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.
