3rd annual Christmas in Covington In this segment sponsored by the City of Covington, we are joined by Judith Perez, and Daniel Munn, to tell us about the city's Christmas festivities.

NEW ORLEANS, La. (NOLA NOW) - Christmas in Covington has returned to the Northshore full of festivities for family and friends to enjoy Saturday, December 7, 3:00-6:30 p.m.

The third annual event kicks off with a parade of the Lollipops Marching Group leading the way for Santa Claus at the Covington Trailhead at 5 p.m.

Santa, his reindeer, and the grinch will all make an appearance after the parade. The event will have crafts for kids to participate in, painting, karaoke, gifts and food.

You also don’t want to miss the beautiful lighting of the tree at 6:30 p.m.

Canned good donations will be excepted during the parade for the NorthShore Food Bank. During the parade, they’ll pick up donations from attendees while enjoying the fun.

The event is free to all, but members encourage donations of canned goods.

Covington by Candlelight will be held Friday, Dec. 6 at 6PM.
