Light up the Lake kicks off in Mandeville this 4th of July! In this segment sponsored by the City of Mandeville, Alia Casborne', Director of Cultural Affairs and Events, tells us what's in store for this year's event.

NEW ORLEANS, La. (NOLA NOW) - It’s time to celebrate Independence Day with the Annual Light Up the Lake Festival and fireworks show!

Light up the Lake is a free family friendly event happening Friday, July 4, on the Mandeville Lakefront. You can enjoy a day full of entertainment from 10 a.m. until 8:45 p.m.

  • Picnics begin at 10 a.m.
  • Mande Milkshakers parade begins at 3:00 p.m. Parade starts at Marigny and ends on Coffee Street at the stage.
  • Stage events begin with a patriotic tribute of music at 4:00 p.m. with Amanda Shaw.
  • The Boogie Men will perform at 6:45 p.m.
  • Evening ends with a fireworks show over Lake Pontchartrain at 8:45 p.m.

There will also be free games, face painting and crafts at the Keep Mandeville Beautiful Kids Tent with a variety of food trucks and drink tents.
